Philippe Richard, né à Montréal en 1947, est le peintre de l’instant. Chacune de ses œuvres traduit l’émotion ressentie lors d’un moment heureux passé avec les siens, dans la nature, dans une petite route de campagne ou dans le port d’une grande cité européenne. Ses tableaux sont autant d’instantanés de la vie ou du rêve qu’il perpétue, et le consacrent comme le peintre qui a su marier l’authenticité du quotidien à la magie de la nature, des saisons, et des paysages québécois.

Philippe Richard est avant tout un créateur. Ces instantanés de l’émotion heureuse, il les place souvent dans des jardins fleuris, si propices aux rêves qu’il nous fait partager. Philippe Richard, born in Montreal in 1947, is the painter « of moments ». Each of his paintings conveys an emotion felt during a wonderful moment spent with dear ones, in nature, on a little country road, or in the port of a great european city. His works resemble snapshots of life or dreams that the artist perpetuates, and make him stand out as the painter who sucessfully married the genuine feel of the daily life, with the magic found in nature, seasons and landscapes.

Philippe Richard is, more than anything, a creator. These snapshots of happy moments, he often places them in flowery gardens, suited to the dreams evoked by his paintings. The strength of his creations reside in the atmosphere, the simplicity and the felicity that they exude ; the quality of the light also brings out an enveloping warmth which touches with a brisk of peacefulness the soul of the painter and the art collectors.

People are inevitably moved by Philippe Richard’s work.
